THE PURPOSE OF HAWAII VETERANS MEMORIAL FUND IS TO HELP RELIEVE THE STATE OF HAWAII FROM ITS OBLIGATION TO EDUCATE THOSE OF ITS RESIDENTS DESIRING TO OBTAIN A HIGHER EDUCATION BY PROVIDING UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIPS TO HAWAII RESIDENTS ATTENDING COLLEGE AT A SCHOOL WITHIN THE UNIVERSITY OF HAWAII SYSTEM OR GRADUATE SCHOLARSHIPS TO HAWAII RESIDENTS ATTENDING ANY GRADUATE SCHOOL WITHIN THE UNITED STATES.
