Entrants may submit recent and timely articles published in magazines, newspapers, and independent news sites that have been published during 2024. An entry can be either a series or an individual piece of work.

Award of $15,000 to a USA journalist to recognize outstanding writing and reporting in the area of healthcare. The award recipient will be selected for exceptional articles that shed light on healthcare policy or on healthcare delivery and financing. An eligible entry may be either a series or an individual piece of work that was published during the preceding calendar year.

Award of $20,000 to a USA news reporter or journalist to recognize exceptional radio, television, and streaming media news coverage related to healthcare policy and issues. The award recipient will be selected for outstanding reporting that increases public awareness, creates change in health policy, and gives rise to new insights and fresh perspectives. Entries will be accepted from staff employees of national or local news organizations, nationally distributed cable programs, online streaming platforms, or freelance journalists.

Award of $20,000 to a USA author of digital content for outstanding writing related to healthcare. The selected award recipient will be honored for excellence in online content published during the preceding year that explores issues in the area of health and healthcare systems.

Grants to USA nonprofit organizations for programs that benefit local communities. Funding is intended to support a variety of charitable initiatives in the focus areas of wellness, education, and preservation. For 2025, sub-areas of focus include early childhood education, teachers, animal well being, and get outside.

Grants of up to $15,000 and grants of up to $50,000 to USA state and territory medical boards to upgrade technology in order to improve licensing processing, communication with the public, and emergency preparedness. Funding is also intended to further pivot COVID-19 resources to handle today's most pressing needs, such as natural disasters.

Award of up to $5,000 to a USA, Canada, or International undergraduate activist in recognition of exceptional activities that promote the preservation of freshwater and marine resources. Eligible nominees have championed their cause and garnered peer support throughout the school year. In addition to the monetary prize, the winner will also receive mentorship from MCN and be partners for the academic year.

Opportunity for USA artists and teams of artists to receive a commission to create public artwork in Arizona. The purpose of the project is to create a large-scale mural that adds vibrancy and reflects the local character of the neighborhood. Artists will engage with community members and local businesses to create their work. The site of the California Avenue mural is located off California and Keystone Avenue in the Old Southwest neighborhood of Reno on the periphery of the Downtown, MidTown, and River Walk areas.

For theaters, funding is intended to positively impact the community by promoting theatre and bringing live theatre experiences to children. The applicant organization must show evidence of need and a commitment to raising matching funds. The purpose of this program is to give children nationwide the opportunity to play high-quality stringed instruments.

Funding is intended to address regional conflicts, reduce nuclear threats, partner with like-minded social justice movements, and adopt transformational approaches that can challenge the nuclear policy status quo.

Grants to USA and Israel nonprofit organizations for a wide range of projects and programs that benefit Jewish communities. Funding is intended for capital projects, general operating support, or programming. In the United States, grants will primarily support residents in Miami, Florida.

Funding is intended to support a broad range of programs, with an emphasis on projects that advance the dignity and financial security of women and promote the strength and leadership of girls. The purpose of this program is to support the development and ongoing success of rural microentrepreneurs and microenterprises.

Scholarships may be used for vocational training in the following industries: transportation, technology, construction, communications, energy, healthcare, manufacturing, and public service.

Fellowship of $3,000 to a USA researcher to conduct studies that explore the history of family medicine and general practice in the United States. The research project will use the funding source's collections to further knowledge about the history of family practice, its practitioners, and their role in health and health care, and will result in a durable product in any format. Applications are welcome from interested researchers, including family physicians, students, residents, historians, scholars, educators, scientists, and other health professionals.

Grants to USA nonprofit organizations for educational programs with a focus on the U.S. Constitution. The purpose of the program is to support programs that advocate the value of the Constitution. Applicants will be asked to include a summary of their accomplishments in the previous year and objectives for the coming year.

Grants to USA, Canada, and International nonprofit organizations for programs to enhance the health of the LGBTQ+ community. Eligible proposals are those that address physical and behavioral health issues, including but not limited to substance abuse, HIV and AIDS, basic needs, and health equity.

Scholarships to USA family members of fallen or disabled military service members and first responders. Scholarships are available for tutoring, private school, and higher education. Eligible applicants are dependants and spouses of military service members and first responders.

Grants to USA teachers, counselors, and educators to purchase classroom equipment, materials, and supplies. The purpose of the program is to provide students in grades 6-12 with knowledge about career opportunities in the TV and film entertainment industry. Eligible applicants and their students will watch a webinar featuring entertainment professionals who speak about their careers and offer advice for aspiring media professionals. Grants may be used for classroom needs, including media or technology equipment or other classroom needs.

Scholarships of $5,000 and scholarships of $10,000 to USA individuals living with epilepsy and family members or caregivers of individuals with epilepsy to pursue higher education. Funding is paid directly to the educational institution and may be used for books, tuition, and other school fees.

Grants to USA organizations for lighting for recreational areas in underserved communities. Funding is intended to improve the health and development of children through making sports pitches more accessible, safer, and extending the number of hours that children and adults can use these recreational facilities.

Loans to USA and territories nonprofit organizations, Tribes, cooperatives, and public agencies to assist with economic development in rural areas. Applicants are advised to complete required registrations before applying. Funding is intended to increase economic activity in eligible communities.

Grant of $5,000 to a USA doctoral student to assist with research necessary to complete a dissertation in US politics or public policy. Funding is intended for research to be conducted at the funding source's facility in Michigan. Eligible research fields include history, political science, foreign relations, and journalism.

Grants of up to $25,000 and in-kind support to USA Native Indigenous youth filmmakers for the production of short films. Funding is intended to cover the production costs of short story films on the topics of health and wellness, science, education, art, climate and environment, culture, history, language, and empowerment. Finished videos are expected to be shared in a community engagement activity that is determined by the partner organization.

Grants of $2,500 to USA nonprofit organizations for projects to benefit local communities. Funding is intended for the provision of needs-based services including basic human needs, health and medicine, financial education and literacy, and mental health and crisis support.

In addition to prize money, winning candidates will receive guidance to initiate a new project or continue their current work. Opportunity for USA nonprofit organizations, IHEs, and agencies to participate in a competition for innovative ideas to expand access to justice in rural areas of the nation. This opportunity is meant to reduce gaps in access to justice that exist specifically in rural areas.

Fellowships to USA, Canada, and International PhD students to participate in online symposiums related to political economy. The purpose of the program is to support students who have a teaching or research interest in the subject. In addition to the stipend, fellows will have travel, accommodation, and meals covered by the program.

Grant to a USA state, agency, nonprofit or for-profit organization, or IHE to run a research and training center regarding employment for people who are blind. Applicants are advised that required registrations may take several weeks to complete. Funding is intended for research that will improve employment outcomes for people who are blind or have low vision.

Grants of up to $25,000 to USA and Austria researchers for research projects on pre-WWII connections between the two countries. Research may be on a wide array of topics including history, culture, economics, politics, or law. Projects may take place elsewhere if there are historical archives that are necessary to access in other countries.

Awards to USA nonprofit organizations recognizing exceptional programs serving underserved veterans and their families. Submissions will be ranked; those groups earning the highest ranking will receive a financial award and be recognized for their achievements. Awards will be utilized to plan and implement new community-based outreach event(s) or activation(s) that can reach over 5,000 underserved veterans. Priority project categories are Transitioning Veterans, Rural Veterans, Minority Veterans, and the Veteran Gaming community.

Grants of up to $1,000 and in-kind support to USA, Canada, and International nonprofit organizations, NGOs, and individuals for projects to save endangered species. The purpose of the funding program is to focus on saving less popular species that are not necessarily in the public's consciousness.

Grants of up to $35,000 and in-kind support to USA and Canada journalists and newsrooms for local investigative reporting that serves underrepresented communities. The program is intended to provide much-needed resources to journalists working on document-focused reporting in a wide range of formats, including video, audio, text, and interactive.

Grants to USA nonprofit organizations for capacity-building activities to foster health equity. Funding is intended to support organizations that advocate for social justice by improving the healthcare system. Organizations may request support for a wide range of activities, including training, data and technology, advocacy and policy change, communications and narrative change, leadership development, base-building, and civic engagement.

Grants to early-stage mathematicians to support travel expenses incurred by research projects. Funding is intended to assist qualifying applicants whose research requires participation in conferences, getting together with a collaborator, conducting studies at an IHE or other institution, or for other activities that necessitate travel related to the research being conducted. Funds may be used for expenses such as advance-purchase economy airfare, hotel, transportation to and from an airport, and meals.

Grants to USA, Canada, and China institutions to host mathematical scientists conducting collaborative research projects with overseas colleagues. Funding is intended to support travel expenses incurred by US and Canadian mathematical scientists traveling to engage in research at institutions in China, and by mathematical scientists from China traveling to conduct studies at institutions in the USA or Canada. Requests will be accepted from the host institutions who will be receiving the visitor from abroad. Preference will be given to US and Canadian traveler-researchers who are eminent mathematicians, and to Chinese traveler-researchers who are at the early stages of their career.

Grants to Hawaii nonprofit organizations to improve library services and adopt new technologies in Native Hawaiian communities. Applicants must complete the required registrations before applying. Funding is intended to expand digital services, enhance educational programs, and preserve and revitalize Native Hawaiian culture and language.

Grants to USA and Puerto Rico nonprofit educational organizations for educational programming that will improve literacy skills among children and older students. Funding is intended to support organizations that wish to employ reading strategies of the Foundation, namely, the initial teaching alphabet (ITA).

Awards to USA, Canada, and International authors for nonfiction books on Jewish subjects. In addition to the $5,000 cash prize, winners will receive marketing and promotion assistance and customized support. Awards are available for books that have recently been published or are soon to be published, involving themes such as rein­vent­ing Jew­ish life and com­mu­ni­ty for the twen­ty-first cen­tu­ry, shift­ing notions of indi­vid­ual and collec­tive Jew­ish iden­ti­ty, the his­to­ry and future of Israel, and the evolv­ing rela­tion­ship between Israel and world Jewry.

Grants to USA and Canada vascular surgeon-scientists for research projects related to vascular health. Funding may be used for direct research costs in the areas of foundational science, clinical studies, patient-focused research, outcomes and health services, education, community support, translational, and patient care. The 2025 Wylie Scholar will be given the opportunity to be paired with a former Wylie Scholar who will serve as a mentor/advisor and provide research project guidance.

Grants to USA federally recognized Indian tribes to improve library services in Native communities. Applicants are advised that required registrations may take several weeks to complete. Funding is intended for digital services, educational programs, and the preservation and revitalization of Native American cultures and languages.

Scholarships of up to $6,000 to USA post-secondary students to study at a qualifying academic institution in Israel. Partial scholarships will be awarded to students attending a pre-approved university, institution of higher learning, or study program. Funds may be used for tuition expenses for undergraduate, graduate, post-doc, or other studies. The Scholarship Committee considers each student’s merit regardless of financial need.

Grants of up to $36,000 to USA individual painters and groups of painters over the age of 45 who need financial assistance. The goal of this program is to support the creation of American art and to support American artists who have not been shown fitting recognition. In addition to the cash grant, the award also includes an exhibition at PAAM. The review criteria for the grant are artistic quality, creative ability as evidenced by images of work submitted, and financial need.

In-kind grants of new children's books to USA public and tribal libraries in rural areas. The purpose of the project is to increase access to quality children's books. Recipients will be able to choose the most appropriate books for their community from a list of over 500 high-quality hardcover children’s books, including award-winning and star-reviewed titles from educational and literary organizations.

Grants to Hawaii nonprofit organizations for capital projects and programs that benefit communities. Funding is intended for activities within the focus areas of humanities, arts and culture, environment, education, community development, health and human services, spiritual development, and youth development. Capital requests are for tangible assets that are depreciated, for example equipment, vehicles, buildings, etc. The Foundation supports organizations working collaboratively to address systems change.

Grants to Hawaii nonprofit organizations to address the needs of communities where the Funding Source has a business presence. Funding is intended to support initiatives in a wide range of areas including, but not limited to, education, health, human services, community, arts and culture, and environmental & land stewardship. A&B will consider support for start-up, general operating, and special project needs, as well as major and minor capital requests.

Grants to Hawaii nonprofit organizations for programs, capital projects, operating support, and tuition aid that will improve the quality of life for state residents. Funding is intended to support programs and projects in the areas of arts and culture, education, environment, health, human services, religion, and community.

Grants to USA tribal, Alaska Native, and Native Hawaiian IHEs to advance research, education, and outreach in STEM and other disciplines. Funding is intended to support projects that build capacity, engage the community, and promote research across the social and behavioral sciences, natural sciences, technology, engineering, and mathematics. The purpose of the program is to improve instruction and instructional capacity, including curricular offerings, in tribal colleges and universities across the country.

Funding is intended to enhance telehealth and telemedicine by providing reduced rates for telecommunications and voice services. Funding is intended for general operations, including but not limited to equipment, supplies, salaries, space rental, technology, teacher stipends, and more. Proposals may also focus on a particular project or new programming effort.

Grant of $80,000 to a USA academic institution to support clinical training programs related to Inflammatory Bowel Disease. Programs will take place in locations experiencing workforce difficulties. Funds may be used for the fellow's salary expenses and benefits. Fellows will engage in clinical training focused on IBD.

Awards to USA, Canada, and International poets and authors of any age to recognize outstanding humorous poems. Works that have been previously published as well as unpublished works are eligible. In addition to the cash prizes for first-, second-, and third-place winners and honorable mentions, entries will also be published on the Winning Writers website.

Residencies to USA emerging ceramic artists to gain experience and advance their careers. Residencies take place at a ceramic art center in New York. Residents will receive a monthly stipend, free firing, studio space, opportunities to teach and exhibit work, and professional development options. Applications are encouraged from candidates from historically underrepresented communities in the ceramic arts.

Scholarships to USA juniors at accredited colleges and universities to pursue careers in the field of public service. The goal of the program is to create the next generation of leaders and community builders. Funding is intended for applicants with demonstrated financial need. Scholarship recipients will receive financial aid for college, a stipend and housing for summer work-travel experience, and a ten-year travel stipend. Additionally, students will receive invitations to an annual summit and an ongoing speaker series, giving them access to a network of leaders.

Grant of $2,000 to a USA Jewish college or graduate student for independent study relating to Israel in the visual arts. Applicants must contact the funder prior to submitting an application.
